Carlos Tevez’s form for Manchester City is showing just how much he is missed by Manchester United, according to former Red Devils striker Teddy Sheringham.

Many felt that Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer departure from the club would leave a bigger void in Sir Alex Ferguson’s team than that left by the diminutive Argentine.

Sheringham disagrees with that assessment now however, especially bearing in mind Tevez’s tremendous work rate.

“It’s always difficult to lose a special player and ­Cristiano Ronaldo is one of those,” he told The Daily Star.

“He created so much and scored so many goals that they were always going to miss him.

“But for me United miss Carlos Tevez just as much, if not more, than they do Ronaldo.

“His work-rate for United was phenomenal and it was always going to be difficult to replace someone like that.”
